I went back up to the third floor and was eventually let in to the Berg.

    New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) is a grand marble building on 5th Avenue, but the entrance is actually on 103rd Street. While waiting to be seen, I sat at a table in a pleasant coffee shop that is off the lobby of the academy.
